A renowned Turkey and Middle-East expert and strategist, Dr Joshua W. Walker teaches “The Politics of National Security” at the George Washington University’s Elliot School of International Affairs and “Leadership and American Presidency” at George Mason University.

He has also previously worked on the Turkey Desk of the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the State Department, the U.S. Embassy Ankara, and for the Joint Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Defense. He also served as a senior advisor to Secretary Kerry and Secretary Clinton.

Walker earned his Ph.D. in politics and public policy with a specialization in international relations and security studies at Princeton University. He holds a master’s degree in international relations from Yale University, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond and speaks both Japanese and Turkish fluently in addition to his native language English.
