Graduated from Faculty of Theology in Ankara University in 1989, He prepared his MA thesis on Muslim modernist movements in Indian Sub-Continent. He studied his thesis in SOAS, London. He obtained his PhD from Ankara University. His dissertation was on a comparative study between Muslim Theologians and Philosophers on God-World Relations.
In the academic year 1999-2000 he lectured in Gregorian University, Rome. He was visiting fellow in Georgetown University, Washington, DC in the academic year of 2003-2004. As a Fulbright Scholar he taught in Birmingham Southern College in 2007. Within this framework he lectured in Alabama Univ., University of Montavello. He taught in International Turkish-Kazakh University of Ahmad Yasawi in Kazakhistan in the academic year of 2012-2013.
He led international English Theology Department of the University for two years. He served as the editor of Theological Journal of Divinity Faculty of Ankara Univ. for six years. He is the editor of online Journal of Theological Studies (www.kelam.org/kader). He chaired English Theology Department for two years. Now serves as head of Theology Department in Ankara University.
